Your Role: As a Consulting Associate, Capital Project Delivery, you will be part of the project team that supports ERM client’s needs for development, due diligence and feasibility analysis of renewable energy projects. You will team with project managers and technical and financial subject matter experts to review, optimize and develop projects in Canada and the United States. You will be able to support analysis and review of project files to support permitting, feasibility, and design of renewable energy projects.

What You’ll Do:

  • Planning and assisting with due diligence projects, including developing scopes of work, reviewing work plans, evaluating scope options, supporting project cost estimates, attending pre-construction interviews, supervising specific tasks, participating in client and progress meetings, documenting progress and updating schedules, performing site inspections, and summarizing and preparing final reports.
  • Reviewing financial models including, but not limited to, project valuation models, revenue forecasts and capex and opex schedules.
  • Supporting site investigation efforts to identify existing building conditions and support the sampling to identify the presence of constraints and setbacks on constructability.
  • Reviewing and analyzing public policy programs, regulations and legislation regarding regulated utilities, electricity markets and emissions reduction.
  • Communicating with the Project Manager, supporting project tasks to assess project conformance with project plans and specifications, and assure that clarifications and interpretations required for proper execution of the contract are implemented.
  • Support Project Manager’s effort to identify and track upcoming management requirements, meet with clients to identify upcoming work, and assist in business development activities, including preparation of proposals, interviews, and project contracting
  • Maintain records.

What you Bring:

  • Bachelors or master’s degree in an engineering field preferably electrical, civil, mechanical or structural. Alternatively, a degree in commerce, finance or public policy, with a strong background in research will be considered.
  • Strong initiative (self-starter), problem-solving and communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and uncertainty or ambiguous project requirements and requests.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, writing and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel throughout and outside Canada. Applicants should anticipate spending 10% of their time in the field.
  • Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
  • Experience in construction, engineering, design and project coordination preferred.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including implementing strict Health and Safety protocols.

For the Consulting Associate, Capital Project Delivery position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $61,928 – $65,271 CAD. An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs. We also may have instances where compensation may be outside of the range, based on the factors noted above. This job is also eligible for an annual discretionary based performance bonus.
