JOB SUMMARY AND QUALIFICATIONS

The Consulting Technical Publications Analyst consults and collaborates with business partners and product owners on behalf of IT Learning CoE to assess documentation needs and develop a strategy, which provides the foundation for the overall design, development, and delivery of online help, portal sites, job aids, and other procedural content.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Writing, Communication or Education - Required

EXPERIENCE

7 or more years of experience in Technical Writing, Communication, Business Analysis – Preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Responsibilities:

The Consulting Technical Publications Analyst is a communication and information expert, and possesses excellent knowledge in technical writing, editing, and publication, and also specializes in the design, development, and publication of system documentation, online help, and development of training deliverables, including knowledge of the subject matter, online publication methodologies, and the usability and consumption of the information. The candidate should have knowledge of search trends, use of metadata to improve searchability, and will act as the customer advocate to HCA Healthcare end users.
Specific competencies include design and development of electronic systems documentation, integrated online help systems, and electronic simulations and demonstrations. The Consulting level position is required to work with business partners to understand the audience and need, in order to develop an integrated learning solution for the customer. The Consulting level position is also relied upon to mentor senior and intermediate level staff in all areas of the Learning CoE business.

Duties may also include collaborating with peers in any combination of the following:

  • Consult with business owners to determine best solution to fit targets for time, quality and requirements fulfillment. Solution planning should be comprehensive, representing fulfillment of complete learner needs even if development plan/timeline is incremental.
  • Define informational and instructional design of learning solutions deliverables, based on audience.
  • Write, edit, and electronically publish online help, job aids, and procedural content.
  • Collaborate with training staff in development of the learning package, and software development concepts.
  • Mentor across all Learning CoE positions on departmental and enterprise organizations, initiatives and process.
  • Lead and participate in process improvement and other intradepartmental teams within Learning CoE.
