We are seeking a data-savvy Competitive and Marketplace Intelligence Associate to join our team.
As a crucial member of the Competitive and Marketplace Intelligence team, you will play a pivotal role in anticipating competitive threats, monitoring marketplace dynamics, and shaping our overall business strategy.

This role offers a breadth of experiences in core CMI Capabilities.

  • Business Acumen: You will improve your business acumen by working across segments and categories.
  • Influential Communication: You will have opportunities to work with leaders across levels.
  • Analytical Expertise: You will gain experience interpreting and applying data from a wide range of qualitative and quantitative sources.
  • Strategic Partnership: You will collaborate with every segment, the entire breadth of the CMI function, and partner teams such as Corporate Strategy, ITQ and Disruptive Growth.

Futures Outlook: Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the Foresights and Growth Analytics teams to connect competitors’ moves and marketplace realities to future growth opportunities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Competitive Threat Anticipation: Continuously monitor competitive activities, including strategic priorities, M&A, and patent filings, to anticipate potential risks and opportunities. Elevate insights to stakeholders through well-crafted and persuasive narratives.
  • Hot Topics: Bring an external perspective to address high-priority and time sensitive topics, providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Visual Storytelling: Craft compelling and persuasive narratives that resonate with various stakeholders.
  • Data Synthesis: Utilize a variety of sources, including industry reports, social media, syndicated data, and primary research to drive strategic decisions.
  • Cultivate Connections: Create strong working relationships across the CMI Center of Excellence. Identify opportunities to collaborate to maximize impact.
  • Build Relationships: Create relationships across key stakeholders, Corporate Strategy, CMI OU/segment teams, and Disruptive Growth. Leverage your competitive expertise to provide strategic guidance.
  • Competitive Intelligence Strategy Sessions: Partner with CMI OU and Segment teams to execute competitive threat assessments. Support strategic planning.
  • Knowledge Zone: Manage Competitive Intelligence Knowledge Zone to ensure accessibility of critical insights.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to synthesize information across a broad range of sources to create a clear and persuasive point of view.
  • Excellent storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Experience applying appropriate effort – finding the right balance between fast and simple and rigor.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn and embrace new technologies, data sources, and methodologies.
  • Strong experience collaborating across different backgrounds and specialties for impact.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or Master’s degree in related field
  • Proven expertise working with syndicated data sources such as NiQ, Circana or Euromonitor.
  • Experience preparing strategic assessments of key competitors or market segments.
