About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is currently seeking a Consumer Peer Support Worker to join our Camperdown Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing team.
This role enables you to draw upon your own Lived Experience of mental health challenges, including interactions with Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Services and/or Acute Inpatient Unit (AIU). Using the Intentional Peers Support Model, you will establish mutual and reciprocal relationships with a focus on recovery and hope, embracing a client – centred approach.
You will provide individual consultations, education, and group interventions to support consumers experiencing mental illness or severe psychological distress. Utilising principles of hope, choice, self-determination, and social connectedness. While collaborating closely under direct supervision of a multidisciplinary team.

Position Overview

• This is a permanent part time (40 hours per fortnight) position.
• Camperdown Campus
• Peer Support Worker Level 1 or 2
• Salary Range: $60,086 to $71,625

• Strong communication skills
