Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) planning, developing, and/or implementing food safety audits for an organization; 2) managing, coordinating, and/or conducting commercial food safety training for an organization; and 3) reviewing technical inspection reports of food establishments for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone-no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

• Serve as the Consumer Safety Officer for the Central Meat Processing Plant and for the Defense Commissary Agency European Area.
• Investigates Foodborne illness concerns for the region.
• Serves authority for all food safety and sanitation contractual compliance, plans, directs and coordinates day-to-day inspection activities and compliance for Defense Commissary Agency Europe.
• Audits food safety and public health programs, perform inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with food safety and public health hazards, sanitation issues, food defense deficiencies and with implementing programs.
