WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE

  • Exceptional editor, writer, communicator, and collaborator
  • 8-10+ years of experience as a writer or editor within fast-paced editorial operations; a major plus if you have worked as an in-house editor or writer for an enterprise software company that doesn’t sound like an enterprise software company
  • Unmatched abilities when it comes to researching, interviewing, writing, and editing
  • A highly effective partner to the visual storytelling process; you can demonstrate how you’ve worked with designers and other creatives in the past to deliver beyond the basics
  • Proven ability to understand technical products and discern quality of use cases for storytelling
  • Ability to write within a defined brand voice and tone, while also incorporating fresh ideas and new perspectives
  • Proven experience working with executives and C-levels
  • BA/BS degree

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THIS ROLE

We are looking for a Content Marketing Strategist to help us identify and produce best-in-class content that positions Okta as an industry leader.

This role will have three key focus areas:

  • Brainstorm big content bets that will break through the noise
  • Collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional partners to bring that content to life
  • Track performance and feedback to optimize and improve our content strategy

This role will work closely with Brand, Creative, Film, Product Marketing, Comms, Campaigns, Legal, Investor Relations, and other stakeholders from across the business.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Spearhead big-bet thought leadership content, launching one marquee asset per quarter
  • Partner with Creative and Brand to ensure content is not simply a wall of text but an experience that engages, inspires, and delights
  • Collaborate with agencies and our Data and Insights team to produce data-driven content that is not only informative but statistically sound
  • Brainstorm and execute a “waterfall” content strategy to ensure we get maximum mileage out of each piece of content
  • Expertly craft content, whether writing it yourself or working with an agency, for a wide range of audiences, channels, and formats
  • Stay up-to-date on news and trends to ensure our content is externally wired to industry conversations
  • Meet tight and frequent deadlines
  • Help to define KPIs for content created; clearly communicate metrics to stakeholders and track success of content
  • Manage cross-functional relationships to identify experts for input, reviewers for sign-off, and co-champions for cross-promotion
  • Collaborate with Social, Campaigns, Product Marketing, and Comms to ensure that all content has a promotion plan behind it
