SUMMARY:

The Content Operations & Strategy Specialist will be responsible for supporting content operations digital platforms. They will be a key contributor to the deployment, growth, and ongoing operation of our FAST channels’ strategy for our entertainment portfolio across Disney owned and operated properties. This individual will be on the front lines of scheduling the daily programming of our FAST channels and channel expansion in support of our digital viewing strategy.
The Specialist will partner with teams to support new product feature implementation and cross-network initiatives. The Specialist will partner with teams to operationalize content publishing functions and improve the asset management tools and workstreams used to manage the content portfolios across sites and apps. They will be a key contributor for CMS (content management system) programming across all management systems, QA (quality assurance) validations and video life cycle management (Digital Rights Management, video acquisition/delivery and scheduling). The Specialist will manage our support team’s weekly functions and duties where necessary. They will serve as a first responder for FAST Channels emergencies and issues pertaining to our team’s suite of products or features.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in an operations role in Digital Media or asset management, ideally with 2 years of that time focused in scheduling and publishing digital media using a content management system (CMS).
  • The ability to decipher technical data and issues by examining XML and API code.
  • An understanding of video formats and image specs, and the ability to communicate on the topic to varied groups.
  • Previous experience managing external vendor project timelines and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize clear and actionable business requirements from multiple teams.
  • Previous experience working with Quality Assurance teams, and communicating/tracking progress using systems such as JIRA or Confluence
  • Demonstrated experience working independently and collectively in situations with multiple or competing deadlines, and the ability to prioritize requirements and make informed tradeoffs.
  • Previous experience working as a super-user of system tools, and a subject matter expert on digital platforms and publishing.
  • Excellent skills interfacing with management with varying levels of technical expertise.
    The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $70,000 to $93,800 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a point for FAST channel content programming, and address questions regarding rights and status, launch readiness and QA, weekly schedules, and content metadata issues.
  • Support the expansion of FAST channel operations, through set up of content programming systems, digital schedules and video DRM validations.
  • Assist department manager on major product features and launches on our apps as needed.
  • Work with external partners to enhance the operation and efficiency of FAST channel management tools, and contribute to the roadmap planning process .
  • Interpret performance data and make improvement recommendations around the quality of content scheduling and/or the scheduling process and tools.
  • Partner with linear and digital network teams to troubleshoot video delivery and publishing issues related to FAST channel operations on our owned and operated properties.
  • Represent the team in project status meetings, and provide updates and next steps.
  • Create best practices, author workflows, and write support documentation.
