POSITION OVERVIEW

Calian is currently hiring a Content Subject Matter Expert to support the Training and Development program for the RCN. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance and support in performance measurement and evaluation, offering orientation, advice, and training to various stakeholders within the organization. This opportunity will be conducted on-site, at CFB Esquimalt.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10 years of experience in the field related to Canadian Navy Training – WENG, or MarTech/MarElec.
  • Have the ability to work onsite at CFB Esquimalt.
  • Be eligible to obtain a Reliability clearance and be a Canadian Citizen.

Assets

  • Previous experience sailing on the Kingston Class.
  • Naval Training System experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and confirm the scope of content requirements for training development initiatives.
  • Identify and select relevant source materials, including manuals, guidelines, and best practices, to inform training program design.
  • Gather content from diverse mediums such as publications, training videos, and relevant research articles.
  • Format and structure content in alignment with training standards and instructional design principles.
  • Review and edit content for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with training objectives.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure content meets the specific needs of personnel.
  • Validate content accuracy by thoroughly reviewing design documents, training scenarios, and final products.
  • Provide constructive feedback and revisions to enhance the quality and effectiveness of training materials.
  • Monitor the implementation of training content and address any discrepancies or performance gaps.
  • Maintain detailed records of content revisions, updates, and approvals to support ongoing training development efforts.
