Director Continuous Improvement

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide strategic direction for process improvement and change management across the Commercial & Industrial Division (C&I). Assess, develop, and implement improvement strategies to support continued, profitable growth while elevating the customer experience and value. Analyze, plan, and execute ongoing improvements to customer experience, service, installation, and administrative processes that maximize growth and support C&I diversification strategy. Significant responsibility for formulating and administering policies and programs with a high degree of autonomy. Influence business decisions made by senior leadership.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Expert knowledge and use of continuous improvement methodologies such as six sigma, 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and implementing process improvement initiatives for large, complex, high growth cycle organizations.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills with the ability to interpret and leverage data for decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams through complex projects and cross-functional processes and to meet established deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in commonly used and specialized software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across the business and at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in high paced and changing environments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, process management, operations, industrial engineering, engineering management or in a related field from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience in process optimization and change management across the organization to support growth, customer experience and value.
  • Certified Six Sigma, SSGB, SSBB

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze company processes, procedures, and systems to design and implement continuous improvement programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure strategic improvement programs and initiatives are seamlessly integrated vertically and horizontally throughout the organization. Vertical solutions include service and install functions, while horizontal solutions would include, but are not limited to, back-office teams such as dispatch, billing, procurement, and customer experience.
  • Develop, clear, concise and outcome driven plans to implement endorsed strategic initiatives that identify and improve organization outcomes and consider interdependencies across the business.
  • Manage and facilitate all Continuous Improvement initiatives and strategies by monitoring key performance indicators, organizational process improvements, and by training, mentoring and guiding members in new processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Establish, analyze, and maintain performance metrics to measure program and initiative success.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to proactively problem solve including anticipation of issues, determination of solution or resolution, and to provide appropriate communication to impacted stakeholders.
  • Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and consistency in the implementation of new and enhanced processes across the business.
  • Engage, collaborate, and influence all functions to ensure the continuous improvement strategy is understood and is sufficiently supported by the appropriate stakeholders.
