Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

We seek a highly creative and driven Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Continuous Improvement Engineering and Equipment Maintenance team. You will work within a highly dynamic group serving as a resource for implementation, expansion and enhancement of Continuous Improvement Engineering culture within our Organization. You will play a key role in expanding the use of Continuous Improvement methodologies to increase Operational Efficiency .

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical science with 0-3 years of industry related experience
  • Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma are beneficial
  • Experience with Minitab statistical software is desired.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in prior automation implementation
  • Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma are beneficial; Green Belt/Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Demonstrated capability and knowledge of equipment reliability concepts and methods.
  • Project leadership experience
  • Experience with liquid handling, fill/finish, robotics, labeling systems, packaging and process integration
  • Experience working under GMP and medical device guidelines.
  • Strong team player, self-motivated, and willing to learn new techniques and concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and documentation skills are required

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Equipment Technicians in lean philosophies to complete scheduled maintenance and enable an environment that identifies and eliminates barriers
  • Identify improvements in current processes for Preventative Maintenance, Calibrations, Emergency Maintenance.
  • Analyze, recommend and implement process improvements to manufacturing processes, with focus on work flow sequencing, automation techniques and equipment reliability improvements.
  • Troubleshooting defects and variation, performing root cause analysis, applying systematic problem-solving techniques, and implementing sustainable solutions.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and external vendors to design, refine and implement automation solutions.
  • Coordinate with our Quality team to design and implement IQ/OQ/PQ and validation protocols.
  • Execute and coordinate validations in compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in creating business cases and justification for capital expenditures and obtain necessary internal approvals.
  • Participate and manage multiple projects simultaneously to keep projects on track and timeline for completion.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning automated alternatives to existing processes supporting products across the Bio-techne portfolio.
  • Build and maintain effective collaborations with Operations, Process Engineering, Development, Quality Assurance and Quality Control groups.
