Description:
POSITION SUMMARY:
We seek a highly creative and driven Continuous Improvement Engineer to join our Continuous Improvement Engineering and Equipment Maintenance team. You will work within a highly dynamic group serving as a resource for implementation, expansion and enhancement of Continuous Improvement Engineering culture within our Organization. You will play a key role in expanding the use of Continuous Improvement methodologies to increase Operational Efficiency .
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical science with 0-3 years of industry related experience
- Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma are beneficial
- Experience with Minitab statistical software is desired.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in prior automation implementation
- Training and experience in continuous improvement methods, statistics, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma are beneficial; Green Belt/Black Belt certification is a plus.
- Demonstrated capability and knowledge of equipment reliability concepts and methods.
- Project leadership experience
- Experience with liquid handling, fill/finish, robotics, labeling systems, packaging and process integration
- Experience working under GMP and medical device guidelines.
- Strong team player, self-motivated, and willing to learn new techniques and concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and documentation skills are required
Responsibilities:
- Work with Equipment Technicians in lean philosophies to complete scheduled maintenance and enable an environment that identifies and eliminates barriers
- Identify improvements in current processes for Preventative Maintenance, Calibrations, Emergency Maintenance.
- Analyze, recommend and implement process improvements to manufacturing processes, with focus on work flow sequencing, automation techniques and equipment reliability improvements.
- Troubleshooting defects and variation, performing root cause analysis, applying systematic problem-solving techniques, and implementing sustainable solutions.
- Coordinate with internal staff and external vendors to design, refine and implement automation solutions.
- Coordinate with our Quality team to design and implement IQ/OQ/PQ and validation protocols.
- Execute and coordinate validations in compliance with appropriate regulatory requirements.
- Assist in creating business cases and justification for capital expenditures and obtain necessary internal approvals.
- Participate and manage multiple projects simultaneously to keep projects on track and timeline for completion.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning automated alternatives to existing processes supporting products across the Bio-techne portfolio.
- Build and maintain effective collaborations with Operations, Process Engineering, Development, Quality Assurance and Quality Control groups.
