We specialize in pre-fabrication, modular systems and installation of large-scale residential, commercial, institutional, educational, and medical design-build plumbing and mechanical projects.
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Continuous Improvement Lead Hand at our Main shop in Maple Ridge.
Reporting directly to the Senior Fabrication Manager, the Continuous Improvement Lead Hand is entrusted with spearheading continuous enhancement endeavours within the fabrication department, aiming to optimize efficiency, elevate quality standards, and bolster overall operational performance.

Specifically, the Continuous Improvement Lead Hand will…

  • Exemplify leadership by embodying and championing the principles of continuous improvement throughout daily operations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and formulate actionable plans to address them effectively.
  • Oversee the implementation of continuous improvement projects, ensuring alignment with departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Harness the Toyota production system methodologies to meticulously analyze existing processes, streamline workflows, and eradicate inefficiencies.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to team members, nurturing a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Leverage data-driven insights to assess performance metrics, monitor progress, and identify opportunities for further optimization.
  • Facilitate training sessions and workshops to empower personnel with the necessary skills and knowledge to drive continuous improvement.
  • Actively engage in problem-solving endeavors, delving into root causes and implementing sustainable solutions to enhance operational efficacy.
  • Cultivate a pervasive culture of continuous improvement within Pitt Meadows Plumbing, fostering an environment characterized by transparency, accountability, and perpetual growth.
  • Ensure strict adherence to established quality standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior management to devise and execute long-term strategies geared toward achieving operational excellence and sustained improvement.
  • Work closely with external consultants to integrate Toyota Production System principles into the fabricating processes, driving efficiency and effectiveness further.
  • Perform other duties as required.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience within a fabrication or manufacturing environment, with a focus on driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with the construction industry and mechanical systems would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and deciphering blueprints, technical plans, and schematics.
  • Certification or training in Lean Six Sigma methodologies would be highly beneficial.
  • Competency in utilizing software tools such as Bluebeam, AutoDesk, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
