JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CONTRACT DESKTOP ENGINEER IN MELBOURNE

Are you an experienced Desktop Support Technician looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a skilled professional to join our growing team in Victoria. As a Desktop Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining organizational computer systems, desktops, laptops, and peripherals. Your responsibilities will include installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven work experience as a Desktop Support Engineer, Technical Support Engineer, or similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of office automation products and computer peripherals, such as printers and scanners.
  • Knowledge of SCCM packaging and deployment will be highly regarded.
  • Familiarity with the ServiceNow service management toolset is also highly regarded.
  • Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions.
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Customer-oriented with a positive “can-do” attitude.
  • A positive mindset that values teamwork and collaboration

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a wider team on client sites to address user tickets related to hardware, software, and networking.
  • Follow up on incidents and requests until resolution is found, or escalate to the next resolver group.
  • Provide guidance to users on installing applications and computer peripherals.
  • Diagnose problems through targeted questions and guide users with step-by-step instructions.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting and explore alternative pathways until an issue is resolved.
  • Customize desktop applications to meet user needs.
  • Record technical issues and solutions in logs and follow up with clients to ensure system functionality.
  • Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for new and outgoing staff, including imaging devices.
