Responsibilities:

Here at Hitachi Rail, we have a fantastic opportunity for an experience Contract Manager to join our Direct Procurement team. As the Contract Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial management of a portfolio of suppliers and supplier contracts. Ensuring delivery against and value creation from the commercial arrangements. Within this particular role, you will lead and manage one of the major contracts within our business, looking for development and improvement opportunities by working in collaboration with various internal stakeholders to maximise opportunities and minimise risks.
In addition to the management of this relationship, the Contract Manager will also work alongside their direct procurement team colleagues to identify, qualify and on-board new supplier relationships moving forward.
Due to the nature of this role, there will be an expectation to travel, mainly within the UK on a regular basis.

Some key roles responsibilities include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Managing contract lifecycle from initiation to execution, renewal, and close-out.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand contract requirements and objectives.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks associated with contracts and proposing solutions.
  • Monitoring contract performance and ensuring all parties meet their obligations.
  • Resolving contract-related issues, disputes, and discrepancies in a timely manner.
