Job Description

ABOUT US:

We are the exclusive Shell licensee in Australia, and supply around a quarter of Australia’s fuel through our network of around 1345 service stations and through our commercial partnerships with some of Australia’s biggest companies.

Responsibilities:

THE CONTRACTS MANAGER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR LEADING THE POST AWARD CONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT PROCESS TO:

  • Drive safe and efficient contractor performance for all maintenance and project scope
  • Direct the Contract Performance evaluation process including implementation of comprehensive KPIs and execution of the contract management plan
  • Ensure delivery of business value at competitive total cost of ownership, execute incentives and apply reward when applicable
  • Provide leadership to determine Contracting and IR strategies and manage / mitigate contract specific risks
  • Manage scope changes, business objectives, staff, resourcing, contract documentation, variations, claims and control contract expenditure
  • Ensure all Contractor activities are conducted and managed in accordance with agreed HSSE and Quality procedures and management plans
  • Manage Contractor Management Accreditation System Compliance including execution of site based HSSE verifications
  • Provide complex relationship management and build an engaged contractor leadership group who proactively lead improvement initiatives
  • Drive improvements in contractor productivity / time on tools
  • Support contract tender and selection process including development of scope documents, provision of commercial and technical analysis, initiation of contract start up including stakeholder management, and execution of contract close out
  • Ensure delivery of effective Contractor cost control, including compliance to agreed contract scopes, rates and enterprise agreements
  • Lead the Track Contractor Timesheet Team to deliver accurate and timely daily cost reporting and on time contractor payments
  • Manage the Refinery’s Facilities Management function to deliver effective facilities management including prioritised facilities budget
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the Contractor Management Control framework and ongoing process assurance
    Qualifications

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE;

  • Knowledge and experience managing large contracts including contract management, contract negotiation and performance management
  • Knowledge and experience in pro-actively managing constructive workplace relations with a strong working knowledge of Enterprise Agreements
  • Substantial experience in process and people safety
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deploy engaging process mapping and policy and procedure documentation that enables ‘simple’ application and compliance
  • Systems improvement to enable agile ways of working
  • Advanced skills in performance reporting that enables past performance metrics to educate the team and be used for effective decision making in risk mitigation and business improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise all available communication channels to ensure that the team is kept up to date and engaged
  • Experience in leading a professional team in all aspects of the team member lifecycle
  • Through challenge, care and honest feedback drive a high performance culture
  • Highly skilled in managing complex external and internal stakeholder relationships in a highly collaborative manner
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and a continuous improvement mindset
