SUMMARY/THE OPPORTUNITY

We have multiple roles within the Boeing Defence Australia Contracts team. The opportunities :

One role works as part of the Core Contracts team, responsible for:

  • Assisting in the capture of New Business;
  • Contributing to Campaign Contracting Strategies;
  • Supporting Contract Tender responses;
  • Drafting and Negotiating new Contracts; and
  • Providing outcome-focused Business Advice

Another role works as part of the Business Units, responsible for supporting various contracting activities including

  • Developing and negotiating business solutions leading to the execution of these transactions;
  • Building relationships and dealing with key stakeholders within the business, advising and guiding them in contractual interpretations and negotiations; and
  • Being the primary interface with Customers and their Contracts, Commercial and legal advisors.

The Boeing Contracts function plays a key role in supporting our campaigns and new business including, developing campaign contracting strategy, responding to tenders, negotiating new contracts and providing business advice and leadership.
Responsibilities:

You will apply your contracting knowledge, relationship and negotiation skills and business acumen to support BDA campaigns and execute BDA contracts. You will also provide advice to multi-disciplined teams on the efficient and effective delivery of contracting activities throughout the BDA business. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that contractual requirements are negotiated, executed and delivered within the policies, procedures and requirements of the company
  • Providing subject matter expertise in, and support to customer negotiations
  • Providing guidance and advice to Boeing stakeholders to ensure that contractual and legal requirements are adequately understood and communicated
  • Providing general technical oversight to maximise opportunities and minimise contractual/business risks
  • Contribute to the development of strategies and solutions to deliver upon complex contractual opportunities and issues; and
  • Acting as the primary interface between Boeing and external customers for all contractual matters

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in leading contract negotiations and complex contracting activities
  • Understanding of general contracting principles and the application of relevant techniques
  • Understanding of negotiation concepts, practices and principles
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with diverse multidisciplinary and geographically diverse teams with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence and negotiate at all levels with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including customers
  • Previous demonstrated experience with Australian Standard Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suit of templates is highly desirable
  • Experience in supporting campaigns and projects in an ASDEFCON contract environment highly regarded
  • Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet defence security requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline (e.g. Law, Accounting or Business Management). Formal qualification in Law is highly desirable
