Description:

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

  • Proven experience as a Control Systems Engineer
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • PLC/SCADA system design and development
  • Management of PLC/SCADA development projects
  • Scheduling and planning
  • Aptitude to learn complex systems integration tasks – PLC, SCADA and HMI programming, configuration, and implementation.
  • Bachelor of Engineering or aligned discipline (science, technology) OR relevant trade qualification and substantial site experience.Valid Driver’s Licence

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Superintendent - Engineering, we currently have an opportunity for a Control Systems Engineer to join our Maintenance & Engineering Department.

Your role will be interesting and varied and will include:

  • Provide technical support in all aspects of instrumentation and control systems
  • Develop technical standards for design, procurement and implementation of control system hardware, software and instrumentation
  • Ensure compliance with change management standards with respect to software modifications on the production control systems
  • Plan upgrade strategies to ensure control systems in use do not present a significant business risk due to obsolescence
  • Manage control systems changes utilising in house and contract resources for small and medium scale changes and upgrades
  • Advise project managers at a technical level to control larger scale projects to site standards, and act as the end customer of control systems related equipment for handover of commissioned systemsProvide feedback to the technology department on network infrastructure utilisation and quality, as well as future requirements for planning and upgrade purposes
