To succeed as a Systems Controls Manager, you must have senior leadership experience and a strong track record from working in a global matrix organization. Further, you have worked with best-in-class technology standards from well-established international companies. You could be in a similar position within a comparable or similar industry. Alternatively, you are currently in a comparable position with a smaller scope. The key is your passion and drive to implement technologies and methods to help us scale our business significantly.

Responsibilities:

Can you see yourself in charge of defining, executing and developing a comprehensive technology strategy in a fast-growing international company? Then the position as Control Systems Manager in our Technology and Product Development Department at Ballard Power Systems Europe could be the right next move for you.
You will report to the Director of Technology and Product Development. You will be people manager for two great teams divided into software and hardware. The software team will report directly into you whereas the hardware team as a team lead.
This role is based at our European head office in Hobro, Denmark and demands 4 to 5 days per week presence at the office.

You are responsible for bringing in the technology and processes we need to scale up our capacity to an ambitious level. This includes identifying technology improvement and product development opportunities that fit into the overall strategy of Ballard. Further, you will ensure that KPIs and targets for the function are achieved. In short, you will:

  • Manage and grow the capabilities in the teams in-line with company strategic plans.
  • Assist in developing the strategy and execute on strategic goals.
  • Own and update/improving development processes.
  • Implement/maintain Agile processes and resource management.
  • Internal reporting, monthly updates on progress in programs and capabilities
  • Create and manage personal goals for the teams, direct reports and yourself.
  • Technical support within the T&PD and identify opportunities to leverage external resources.
  • Align/Support the Global Control Team on development of new SW/HW Architectures
