Description:

We are in search of a Controller on a contract-to-hire basis to join our team in Dallas, Texas. The Controller will play a vital role in the financial operations of our company, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial management systems. The role includes handling the day-to-day operations of the accounting group, as well as managing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project accounting. This position offers a contract-to-hire contract employment opportunity. 100% ONSITE in downtown Dallas.

Contract-to-hire Controller:Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the general accounting work including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, job costing, and general ledger postings for projects
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure fiscal responsibility
  • Prepare and compile timely and accurate monthly and quarterly financial results, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and prepare necessary filings
  • Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support the company’s financial stability
  • Implement cash flow projections and manage working capital effectively
  • Analyze project cost, profitability, and ensure that expenditures are consistently aligned with project budgets to maximize positive cash flow
  • Manage the preparation of the annual tax return process, working with third-party tax accountants
  • Maintain and improve financial software systems and tools
  • Streamline financial processes and enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Oversee and support a team of financial professionals to create an environment of trust and productivity
  • Foster a culture of financial responsibility and accountability.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar position
  • Proficiency in Company Revenue Recognition
  • Experience in Project Accounting
  • Familiarity with General Ledger operations
  • Ability to Analyze Financial Statements effectively
  • Proficiency in Financial Reporting
  • Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience in Account Analysis
  • Knowledge of Accrual Accounting
  • Strong Collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with Accounting procedures
  • Knowledge of Policies & Procedures related to financial operations
  • Ability to create and understand Flowcharts
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven track record of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required
  • CPA or similar certification is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • High level of honesty, integrity, commitment, and responsibility
  • Ability to adapt to change and handle periods of rapid growth and development in the company
