In the Division Reinsurance Controlling (RIC), the responsibilities of controlling and management reporting are bundled together to ensure a uniform controlling process. RIC advises the Reinsurance Committee (RVA), Reinsurance CEO and the Reinsurance CFO in respect of the current economics of the Reinsurance Segment and proper allocation of resources. RIC advises divisional board members and divisional leaders accordingly in respect of their operative units. In parallel to the Reinsurance Controlling mission, RIC is enabling the global provision of structured internal Reinsurance Data as the Global Process Owner for Reporting.
The Planning and Monitoring Non-Life (NL) team is responsible for the Global Planning System and the Monitoring Reporting within the Reinsurance Segment. To complement our team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated colleague. You will grow in a modern and agile state-of-the-art working mode, dealing with the meaningful asset of internal steering data with focus on planning.

Your job

  • Being an expert and our face to the customer for the Global Planning System (GPS) by collecting, understanding and prioritizing the requirements
  • Translating requirements into functional design specifications for GPS with a profound understanding of the technical environment (e.g. system interfaces, data flow, data model)
  • Supervising the GPS requirements implementation in close cooperation with our IT colleagues and conducting business acceptance tests
  • Operating the GPS cockpit to steer the GPS data prefill and data flow from several data intakes up to the respective outbound interfaces and reporting products (AFO Reports, SAC)
  • Setting up and conducting adequate change management measures (e.g. user trainings) and supporting the GPS user during the planning process
  • Developing queries in close alignment with the requestor and in different technologies (e.g. Analysis for Office (AFO), Query Designer, Power BI, SAC) for our Planning and Monitoring products
  • Identifying and implementing automation opportunities and data analytic solutions within our product portfolio by also considering AI technologies

Your profile

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Informatics/ Information Technology or equivalent
  • Experience in modern data warehousing on functional and technical basis (data model, characteristics/ dimensions/ attributes, key figures, query design)
  • Working experience with data visualisation tools and front-end capabilities to translate reporting requirements into data models
  • Working experience in developing or consulting on technologies for data warehousing with SAP BW (on HANA), SAP BO, SAC and Power BI
  • Ability to consider individual requirements on the basis of the holistic warehouse data model and reporting standards and notations
  • Excellent EXCEL skills allowing to transform data into applicable reporting products
  • Programming skills in SQL, R, Python or similar
  • A motivated, result- and self-driven way of working coupled with a high team spirit
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to present complex facts in a clearly understandable and precise way
  • Good command of English, with strong commitment to ensure cooperation with customer and developer
  • Knowledge of (re)insurance business processes and reporting requirements is a plus
