Description:

We are in search of a Controller to join our team in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing various financial and accounting aspects within our organization, primarily in the construction industry. You will be tasked with managing financial reports, payroll, and ensuring accurate use of accounting software tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all financial and accounting operations within the organization
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, addressing any related inquiries or issues
  • Utilize QuickBooks software to maintain financial records and carry out accounting operations efficiently
  • Handle construction accounting, managing financial aspects related to construction projects
  • Prepare financial reports, interpreting and presenting data to stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
  • Monitor the organization’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement
  • Seek out methods and practices to minimize financial risk to the company
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage internal controls
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities for assigned accounts
  • Proven experience in a Controller role or similar financial leadership role.
  • Proficiency in Construction Accounting is essential.
  • Experience with payroll processing and management.
  • Expertise in using QuickBooks for accounting and financial management.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
