Description:

We are on the hunt for a meticulous Controller in the non-profit industry. Based in Seattle, Washington, the successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing the financial operations of our organization, including payroll, accounts payable, cash management, and budget planning.

    The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the execution of payroll, ensuring accurate and timely processing and reconciling payroll activity.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice receipt, approval routing, and payment disbursement.
  • Regularly assess cash requirements and request funding as necessary.
  • Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare and review intercompany journal entries and reconciliations.
  • File personal property tax, B& O tax, and other regulatory returns as required.
  • Reconcile accounts related to employee benefits such as the 401k plan and group medical premiums.
  • Prepare budget variance reports and work with stakeholders to identify reasons for variances.
  • Oversee monthly closing activities to deliver accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Maintain financial records in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  • Provide financial information to external tax advisors to assist with federal and state income tax deposits and filings.
  • Lead the annual budget process including the establishment of the budget calendar, creation of templates for department budget submissions, and loading the approved budget into the accounting system.
  • Implement improvements to internal controls over financial and recordkeeping processes.
