We are in search of a Controller to join our team based in Harahan, Louisiana. This role will involve overseeing a team of clerks, collaborating with external auditors and tax preparers, and producing precise financial statements. The Controller will also be tasked with implementing new systems, such as Oracle, Netsuite, Dynamics or SAP and mentoring the accounting team to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• Supervise an accounting team and manage their daily operations
• Collaborate with external auditors and third-party tax preparers to ensure all accounting tasks are completed accurately
• Oversee the production of accurate and timely financial statements
• Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring all required information is provided efficiently
• Implement new systems to improve accounting processes and workflows
• Mentor the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency
• Leverage auditing and budget processes to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
• Oversee the preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP accounting principles
• Utilize public accounting skills and expertise to guide financial decision-making
• Hold a CPA certification and use this knowledge to ensure all accounting practices are compliant and efficient.

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years of accounting supervisory experience in an Accounting Manager, Controller role or similar.
• Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification.
• Proficiency in GAAP Accounting is required.
• Experience in Auditing is necessary for the role.
• Must have a strong understanding and experience in Budget Processes.
• Experience in preparing Monthly Financial Statements is essential.
• Should have a good knowledge and experience in using NetSuite.
• Public Accounting experience is a must and public/industry experience a plus
