Description:

We are seeking a Controller to join our team located in Allegan, Michigan. This role involves handling a broad range of responsibilities within the manufacturing industry. This is a contract role that offers an opportunity to manage complex financial tasks and contribute to our team’s success.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the processing of investor paperwork and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Handle the accounting needs of the company, including the maintenance of two sets of books.
  • Responsible for job costing and ensuring costs are accurately allocated to the appropriate jobs.
  • Perform monthly close procedures and ensure all financial statements are reviewed and accurate.
  • Act as a point of contact for the team, handling any financial questions or issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with the team to understand their needs and provide financial solutions.
  • Utilize skills in manufacturing and job cost to enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
  • Employ knowledge of ‘percentage (%) of completion’ to accurately track and report on project progress.
  • Utilize ERP systems such as QuickBooks and SAP Business One to manage financial data and processes.
  • Regularly review financial statements to identify and address any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Proven experience in a Controller role within the Manufacturing industry
  • Strong knowledge of Job Cost methodologies
  • Proficiency in percentage (%) of completion accounting
  • Experience with Month End Close processes
  • Ability to review and analyze Financial Statements
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CMA preferred
  • High ethical standards and professionalism, with a commitment to confidentiality.
