Our client is poised for exciting and rapid growth in Canada. As a result, they are adding a Controller to the Finance team. This role is temporarily hybrid, but eventually in early 2025 will become 100% onsite.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Controller is responsible for cost control, financial reporting and analysis, job costing, budgeting, forecasting and month end close. This is an exciting opportunity to be an essential member of the Finance team for a growing company.
To be considered for this role, you must be a CPA with 5+ years of controllership experience. You must have strong job costing and cost control experience. You will be responsible for reporting on actual spending vs budget and forecast, and ensuring that each month, job costing information is accurate. You must be a strong communicator who can build strong relationships across the organization. Experience with big ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle is preferred.
Regularly monitor and analyze job costing reports to ensure accuracy of job status
Provide financial analysis and guidance to support the Operations Team for accurate and timely decision making
Manage regulatory and financial reporting in accordance with accounting standards
Provide analysis for the Leadership Team to develop long term strategy and goals
Analyze and provide recommendations to improve contract margins
Cash flow analysis and management
Provide senior leadership team with monthly project reporting to ensure accuracy and completeness
Analysis of actual vs budgeted and forecasted spending for all projects
Support month end and year end close activities
Develop and report on KPI’s on a monthly basis
CPA designation
5+ years of controllership experience
5+ years of job costing and cost control experience
Large ERP experience (ie SAP or Oracle)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
