Description:
We are in search of an experienced Controller situated in Golden Valley, Minnesota. The role primarily involves overseeing the company’s accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), bank account reconciliation, month-end close, financial reporting, payroll, and some aspects of Human Resources (HR) administration. The successful candidate will also play a critical role in budgeting processes and financial statement preparation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bank reconciliations
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for review
- Manage the month-end close process ensuring timely and accurate completion
- Coordinate with external vendors such as roofing repair, electrical, etc. for building maintenance
- Handle payroll administration and liaise with payroll provider for check distribution
- Administer HR-related tasks such as providing handbooks, answering queries, and directing individuals to appropriate information sources
- Oversee the accounting functions for the owner’s small investment properties, including bill payment
- Coordinate with the accounts receivable staff member to finalize monthly sales figures
- Implement and maintain budgeting processes to support financial planning and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance related
- Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with Budget Processes
- Knowledge of Printing processes related to the role
- Capable of performing Bank Account Reconciliation
- Ability to execute Month End Close tasks
- Proficiency in preparing Financial Statements
- Experience in Financial Reporting
- Knowledge of Payroll processes and functions
- Experience in Human Resources (HR) Administration
