We currently have an opening for a Control Systems Engineer - Automation Specialist to join our successful Digital Water team. This role will support Tetra Tech’s municipal and industrial water and wastewater market. The selected candidate shall experience a unique opportunity to be involved with SCADA projects located in various areas of the country, working with a team of in-house experts in all disciplines. The ideal candidate will be located in or around Pasadena/Los Angeles metro area and work a hybrid schedule.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or related technical degree is preferred.
  • 5-10 years of related automation/controls experience with HMI’s, PLC’s and general SCADA integration.
  • Ability to obtain PE license preferred.
  • Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley – SLC, ControlLogix and CompactLogix PLC’s(including: RSLogix 500 and 5000 PLC software) is required
  • Industrial Communication Networks experience(including Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.)
  • Experience with Schneider - Quantum, m580 Series PLC’s(including: Concept, Unity and Control Expert Software) and Magelis Operator Interface is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with any of the following HMI software and Alarm Management platforms:
  • Wonderware InTouch & System Platform.
  • Rockwell FactoryTalk View (SE and ME).
  • GE iFIX.
  • VTScada.
  • Ignition by Inductive Automation
  • Win-911 and TopView
  • Experience with MSSQL Server, SQL Reporting Services, Wonderware Information Server, Rockwell FactoryTalk VantagePoint is a plus.
  • Experience with OS and System Virtualization is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel is required. Approximately 25% over night travel may be required to support startup and troubleshooting activities.

$102,000 - $130,000 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE

Responsibilities:

  • Perform PLC and HMI programming, SCADA system design and startup assistance.
  • Network configuration, troubleshooting and support.
  • Conduct simulations and testing and offer initial support for startups.
  • Create and maintain equipment documentation and drawings.
  • Investigate and resolve production problems involving equipment software and hardware failures.
  • Maintain and grow solid client relationships (internal and external).
  • Assist in the development of company programming standards and templates.
