Achieving net zero by 2045 is an integral part of Convatec’s commitment to protecting the planet and supporting communities through Convatec Cares, our approach to Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG). Last year, Convatec took an important step on this journey, by setting near term science-based carbon reduction targets.
To help drive progress in 2024, Convatec is launching a global sustainability internship programme across a range of sustainability disciplines, from materials scientists to mechanical engineers – to focus on specific opportunities and help prepare the workforce of the future to drive sustainability. Interns will be placed across our Global Quality & Operations, Technology & Innovation, and Global Corporate Affairs teams.
Sustainability internship programme
Convatec’s sustainability internship programme will offer emerging leaders the opportunity to engage in a variety of focused topics during Q3. The aim of the programme is to give interns a learning experience that allows the application of skills and development in a professional setting, whilst supporting our subject matter experts to advance key priority projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role reports into the ESG Manager in London, who will provide guidance and mentorship during the placement. Sitting at the heart of our Convatec’s Environmental, Social and Governance approach - Convatec Cares - this internship offers the successful candidate the opportunity to play a central part in delivering a number of key programmes and develop broad experience as a member of a high performing team.
Convatec is seeking an ESG intern (full time) to join our Global Corporate Affairs team based at our Paddington, London location (1-2 days a week on site and hybrid) to support us on our journey to embed ESG practices across the company.
In particular, the role will support Convatec in undertaking analysis of ESG ratings and rankings, benchmarking against our Medtech and healthcare peer group.

In addition, you will support coordination efforts for ESG activity across the business in support of the ESG Manager and wider team.

• 100% paid internship – 22,000.00 GPB annual gross.
• Length of the internship – From July until September.
• Hours per week – 35h/week.

YOUR KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead benchmarking and reviews of market practice to inform our sustainability disclosure roadmap.
• Support day to day communication and engagement with stakeholders in all parts of the business.
• Prepare intranet and social media posts for key ESG-related days (Earth Day, World Humanitarian Day, etc). Evaluate/manage data and compile easy to read reports, charts, graphs for senior leadership and relevant stakeholders.
