Description:

Conveyancing Apprentice
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working apprentice to join our conveyancing team at Fishers Solicitors in Ashby-de-Zouch.
The role is full time: 35 hours a week, 9 - 5 and is office based.
The successful candidate will be working within the conveyancing team. They will receive training but will be expected to have a high degree of self-management and initiative to manage a varied workload. Off the job hours for attending college or training will be allocated as required by the College. During the remainder of the week, the successful candidate will undertake the duties below.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of working in administrative role desirable
  • A highly organised approach and the ability to prioritise;
  • A high level of attention to detail;
  • A can do attitude with good initiative;
  • An ability to work well as part of a team as well as independently;
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Excellent computer skills

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out scanning and saving documents to the firm’s case management system
  • To carry out data entry tasks on the firm’s software
  • Create documents using the firm’s case management system
  • To provide support to the other secretaries in the team
  • To set up new files ensuring details are kept up to date
  • Prepare correspondence through audiotyping
  • To take and record accurately any messages, and pass them to the appropriate person
  • Covering reception on a rota basis with other team members for lunch breaks and during periods of annual leave or absence
  • To comply with all case management quality standards as laid down in the office manual and in accordance with Law Society requirements
  • To undertake any specific training when required to do so, and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development
  • To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information
  • To comply with the terms of the Office Manual and any other reasonable request that may be made by the Head of Department or another Director
