Description:

Do you love cooking and meal preparation? Have you considered using your skills within a childcare environment? We have a Cook role available in an amazing childcare centre in Roma.
A huge benefit of working as a cook / chef, within the childcare industry is no weekend work or late night shifts.
You will need to be confident in preparing up to 3 meals per day for a large number of children. In addition to cooking, your knowledge may be required in aspects of menu planning and nutrition guidance support the health and well-being of children through planning and preparing nutritious food.

In this role your main objectives will be to:

  • Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
  • Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
  • Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
  • Work a part time roster of 25 hours per week (5 hours daily from Monday to Friday), no night shifts, no split shifts and no weekend work!

You’ll need:

  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting
  • Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
