Description:

  • Job Title: Cook
  • Place of Work: Chim Thai Restaurant at 111 Thomas Road, Rototuna, Hamilton 3210
  • Work hours: 30 - 40 hours weekly, Tuesday to Sunday, between 11:00 am and 9:30 pm. The Employer will roster actual hours to be worked from time to time.
  • Wage: $ 29.66 to $ 30.00
  • Benefit: Employee discount
    We are Chim Thai at Rototuna, Hamilton. We are currently seeking a full-time cook to join our busy team.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least one year’s work experience as a cook preferably in an Asian Kitchen
  • Adherence to Health and Safety at Work Procedures
  • Adherence to Food Safety Procedures
  • Attention to detail
  • Time Management
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, having a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and being a productive team player.
    Only candidates currently in New Zealand and entitled to work in New Zealand will be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting food items to maintain quality standards.
  • Monitoring and controlling temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment.
  • Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes.
  • Seasoning dishes during the cooking process.
  • Portioning food, arranging it on plates, and adding sauces, gravies, and garnishes.
  • Ensuring proper storage of food in temperature-controlled environments.
  • Adapting food preparation to accommodate special dietary needs.
  • Potential involvement in menu planning and estimating ingredient requirements.
  • Providing guidance and training to kitchen staff and apprentices when necessary
