ABOUT EDUCATION ENTERPRISE

The purpose of the Education Futures division is to drive academic excellence in a manner consistent with UNE’s objectives to be a leader in the design, practice and delivery of distance and online education, and an acknowledged provider of research and scholarship which addresses issues of importance in a regional context. UNE must be identified as an organisation that successfully deploys digital technologies to support educational access and student success. Education Enterprise exists as a business unit to provide both leadership and partnership functions in the design of academic and educational enterprise with faculties and professional areas across all learning, teaching and assessment and, quality enhancement and assurance activities.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Working closely with the relevant Academic Manager, Associate Dean Teaching and Learning, the Secretariat, Heads of School and Course Managers, the Coordinator (Committee Administration) will take a proactive approach to the planning and management of the various academic governance committees at School and Faculty level.
The role will be responsible for ensuring that School and Faculty committee business aligns with UNE policy and record-keeping requirements and is conducted in line with advice from the Secretariat and Committee Chairs. This will include the production of agendas and meeting papers and assisting the Chair with the business of the committee and its meetings.
The Coordinator (Committee Administration) will also provide authoritative advice in relation to the progression of curriculum items through the academic governance process. Where required, the role will also assist in the handling of relevant academic matters in the School and Faculty, providing policy and procedural advice to staff, exercising initiative, judgment, integrity and diplomacy.
The position requires the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrate strong time management skills, maintain high standards of proof-reading and attention to detail and a standard of process responsibility appropriate to the level of the role.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong skills in working effectively in a team-based working environment and complex organisational structure.
  • A demonstrated understanding of academic governance, systemised record-keeping, quality assurance and committee administration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage collaboratively at all levels.
  • An outstanding attention to detail.
  • Experience with multiple UNE systems and platforms, eg: Callista, SRM, Courseloop, or equivalent.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving and prioritisation.
  • A working knowledge of policy and legislation applicable to the Higher Education sector.
  • Experience in producing meeting papers and committee minutes to a high standard
