JOB SUMMARY

Built on a 115-year foundation, the Faculty of Engineering is the largest engineering school in Atlantic Canada. We offer a broad range of graduate and undergraduate programs to over 2,600 engineering students. With a history of innovative and impactful research and teaching, Dalhousie Engineering supports a dynamic and active community, bringing together scholars from multi-disciplines, and collaborating with the broader community for the betterment of Nova Scotia and beyond. Reporting to the Manager of Communications, Marketing and Outreach, the Coordinator will work collaboratively with a variety of partners across the University to deliver superior leadership in the delivery of Faculty analytics, internal/external communications support, and ongoing website development and design.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Undergraduate degree with three to five years’ experience (or an equivalent combination of training an experience).
  • Exceptional communication skills, solid writing abilities, and leadership skills.
  • Experience developing, writing, and collaborating on web content.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work on multiple projects and with diverse teams.
  • Must be creative and have experience identifying target audiences/stories and devising content that engages, informs, and motivates.
  • Basic understanding of HTML and demonstrated experience with Adobe Experience Manager Touch-Enabled UI.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and implementation of a Faculty communications strategy to better identify, create and communicate content to celebrate the successes of the faculty.
  • Works with departments and units to identify potential initiatives/successes requiring communications support
  • On an ongoing basis, maintains Faculty of Engineering website; working with Faculty partners to edit and author new information to be posted on the website.
  • Assists with the creation of Faculty reports such as the Faculty Donor Report and Benchmark Report by working with the Advancement office on the collection, discernment, and visual representation of data.
  • Work closely with the Information Engineer to build, develop and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support admissions, web analytics, and strategic plan objectives.
  • Examine, interpret and report results of analytical initiatives to partners in leadership, Advancement, Communications team, and Engineering Undergraduate office.
