SUMMARY

Works under the direction of the Director of Supportive Services. Assists with and coordinates the planning and provision of the Therapeutic Services Case Management and Peer Recovery Support Services program activities and services. Supervises the program and provides direct client services by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervises clinical and training aspects of the Supportive Services Program to include Case Management and Peer Recovery Support Services.
Assists the Director of Support Services in development and implementation of written program policies, goals and outcome criteria that guide and support the provision of services.
Provides input and assistance to the Director on the professional performance of individuals privileged to provide clinical services in the program.
Coordination of meeting staff’s training needs, consultation and education needs, and the training/orientation of new staff.
Ensures staff are trained in transitioning and discharging clients and maintaining up to date case loads.
Provides day to day supervision as well as crisis interventions and problem solving.
Works to ensure each new staff member is provided hands on training instructions to help them be successful.
Works to ensure each staff member is meeting the direct service time and documentation expectations.
Provides core competency training for staff members not meeting job description standards.
Interviews new program candidates and makes recommendations for hire.
May participate with HR in the termination of unsuccessful employees.
Provides oversight for all staff who are performing services inside and outside the agency.
Monitors internal program monitors, ETPS, and agency Client Data Core and Performance Based Measurements to ensure agency maintains above state standards.
Supports and promotes a service environment for individual in need of behavioral health and/or co-occurring services that is recovery focused, welcoming, and attentive to the needs of individuals who may have experienced trauma in their lives. Attends annual core competencies training in relationship to individuals with co-occurring disorders or who have experienced trauma in their lives.
Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with supervisor and peers, and develops integrated service provisions with other programs.
Establishes and maintains professional working relationships with other agencies.
Provides for scheduling and supervising assigned staff in the provision of services, clinical record keeping and reporting procedures and ensuring staff receive best practice trainings. Provides timesheet review and oversight.
Monitors and approves, as appropriate, staff time sheets, leave requests, schedules, travel, and performance related to program requirements and goals.
Adheres to agency policy and procedures, CARF and DHMSAS standards and criteria, federal and state confidentiality rules and regulations, and any special funding source requirements.
Ensures that staff monitor eligibility status and make applications for Social Security, Title XIX or HMOs (Medicaid), QMB, and other benefits for which the client may qualify.
Provides direct client care in compliance with the job responsibilities of a Case Manager as needed.
Responsible for on-going knowledge of the course of treatment, needs, and special issues of program clients including co-occurring services.
May be required to work evening or weekend hours.
May be required to provide services in a community setting.
Will train staff on how to provide services in a community setting.
May be required to provide client transportation by using personal vehicle or agency owned van or small bus.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in a Mental Health related field with preferred two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination education and experience with at least one year experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Standards and criteria, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of consumers or employees of organization.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to relate to persons with severe mental illness in a positive, helpful, and constructive manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective and tactful working relationships with co-workers; to express ideas and facts clearly and concisely in written and oral form.

Responsibilities:

Directly supervises daily operations and staff providing services within the Therapeutic Services Case Management and Peer Recovery Support Specialist Program. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, orientation and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Scheduling oversight as well as adherence to job requirements of each team member.
