COMPETENCIES AND REQUIREMENTS

  • High School education or equivalent required;
  • Ability to speak publicly (English, and either Inuinnaqtun or Inuktitut), and ability to read and write in Inuinnaqtun and/or Inuktitut) ;
  • Priority hiring consideration given to Kitikmeot Inuit, and Nunavut Inuit. Enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement;
  • Ability to work with people in a team environment and under pressure for requests with time constraints; and
  • Computer Literacy (including but not limited to: work processing, excel, and email programs).

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a key on site contact for Inuit Project personnel who may be experiencing an employment, or family related issue that may require intervention by the Company;
  • Support B2Gold Nunavut Inuit employees who wish to access career development programming offered by the Company;
  • Assist on site Human Resource Advisors and Personnel Coordinators to share B2Gold Nunavut’s and employee specific information with Inuit Project personnel;
  • Deliver cultural awareness training at Project sites; Maintain accurate records of community interactions, agreements, and initiatives;
  • Support Site Management & the Human Resource team as needed during conversations with Inuit Project personnel to resolve employment related matters;
  • Serve as the on-site contact person for B2Gold Nunavut Inuit employees seeking to access Employee Support programs;
  • Work with the Personnel Coordinators & Project Administrators to design, plan, and carry out on site cultural activities through the Social Committee;
  • Provide input into monthly, quarterly, and annual reports related to ongoing site based efforts to support Inuit Project personnel, including development and maintenance of database pertaining to required reporting;
  • Work safely and contribute to the safe practices of B2Gold Nunavut and contractors; and
  • Provide assistance in IIBA Implementation as necessary and where identified by the Implementation Committee.
