REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Experience typically obtained within two years in the following areas:
- Modern business practices;
- Budgeting & Revenue generation;
- Computer/information systems;
- Customer service;
- Database software;
- Cash handling;
- Knowledge of fiscal policies and procedures;
- Demonstrated knowledge of budget processes;
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to act with integrity and professionalism;
- Ability to foster a positive work environment and encourage collaboration and teamwork;
- Ability to have a commitment to an active and meaningful contribution to the university’s well-being initiative;
- Demonstrated excellent customer service, oral and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); and
- American Red Cross AED, CPR and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field;
- Experience with Fusion and Banner or related system; and
- Demonstrated knowledge of Fusion and Banner or related system.
Responsibilities:
- Fiscal Management:
- Review monthly financial results from memberships, sales, The EDGE, other business functions and prepare and submit monthly reports;
- Process EDGE client payments in Fusion software and EDGE credit card sales;
- Ensure appropriate client billing for memberships, EDGE sales, and summer camps;
- Assist in resolving financial over/short deposit discrepancies in Fusion;
- Be knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the Fusion software, Touchnet, and Freedom Pay and their implementation within the department’s operation;
- Be responsible for completing the annual membership and facility usage report;
- Work with the Associate Director, University Life Technology as it pertains to operation of the Fusion software;
- Submit monthly reports that reflect the operation, ensuring that fiscal policies and procedures are compliant with the University’s;
- Process financial transactions including purchase orders, PCard transactions, travel reimbursement and other payments;
- Complete the necessary process to maintain Fusion’s accounting ledger to have a zero balance at year’s end;
- Work with the Finance and Business Manager as it pertains to account reconciliations, audits and end of year projects; andMonthly financial reconciliation.
- Scheduling for the Department:
- Schedule indoor and outdoor campus recreation facilities for student organizations, faculty and staff, and community organizations;
- Ensure facilities are scheduled in an equitable manner;
- Monitor daily use of activity areas to ensure maximum participation; andDevelop and publish weekly schedules for all facilities.
- Sponsorship and Alumni Engagement:
- Support the Finance and Business Manager in obtaining fundraising sponsorships for the annual Mason Open Golf Tournament or other events; andSupport the Finance and Business Manager with planning alumni engagement activities.
- Professional Development:
- Work with supervisor to create an individualized professional development plan;
- Continue to develop professionally through membership and participation in applicable professional organizations and developmental workshops; and
- Represent Mason Recreation on divisional and University-wide committees; represent the institution on regional/national committees.
- Departmental Support/Other Duties:
- Commitment to making an active and meaningful contribution to the university’s well-being initiative;
- Support and take an active role in Mason Recreation departmental special events;
- Participate in the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to support departmental improvement; and
- Perform other duties as requested.
