Description:

OVERVIEW:

The Purpose Society is a mid-size multi-service agency of 180 employees over 12 sites. The Society provides a range of services, including an Independent High School, numerous child care centres, family and youth services and health services. Many programs provide opportunities for volunteers as well as offer practicum sites.

SKILLS:

  • Strong organizational/file management skills
  • Excellent group facilitation skills

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with recruitment and onboarding activities
  • Group facilitation/training experience (groups of 8-20)

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Crisis Intervention training curriculum an asset

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant certifications with 3-5 years’ experience

Responsibilities:

LOWER MAINLAND PURPOSE SOCIETY FOR YOUTH AND FAMILIES (PURPOSE SOCIETY) HAS THE FOLLOWING POSITION AVAILABLE:

Position: Coordinator of Recruitment and Training.
Wage: $27.00 an hour.
Location: 40 Begbie Street, New Westminster.
Hours: Full-time, Permanent.
Shifts: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.

CORE DUTIES:

  • Liaising with agency Program Directors to facilitate recruitment of new staff, volunteers and practicum students
  • Undertaking hiring tasks, including: placing job postings, shortlisting candidates, arranging interview, checking references and preparing pre and post-employment packages
  • Undertaking volunteer recruitment tasks, including: advertising, attending volunteer fairs, interviewing, completing reference checks, maintaining volunteer files, track and report on volunteer hours, and organize annual volunteer appreciation
  • Administrating practicum placements, including: responding to practicum requests, completing all necessary paper work and maintaining practicum student files
  • Tracking staff Crisis Intervention expiry dates and scheduling Crisis Intervention training
  • Providing Crisis Intervention training to staff, volunteers and practicum students
  • Tracking staff First Aid expiry dates and arranging First Aid training for staff
