Key Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate the delivery and operational management of Council’s open space network, public facilities and capital works program to achieve objectives within timeframes, quality and budgets. Also contributing to the strategic planning of open spaces.
  • Coordinate cemetery maintenance and operations to ensure high standard of care and required specifications are met, while contributing to the planning and analysis of future needs and sustainability of the Cemeteries business.
  • Prepare and deliver reports and other documentation for use of the Leadership team and Council.
  • Understand, apply and monitor changes in the relative legislative requirements of the team, developing and reviewing required policy and procedures to suit
  • Resolve issues in relation to customer claims and public liability claims related to Open Spaces.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and services provided by the role and team to ensure effective, efficient and safe delivery of objectives and maximise utilisation of resources.
  • Champion a positive safety culture within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace for our people and the community by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans, and any other documentation required

Responsibilities:

THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE IS TO PLAN, LEAD, COORDINATE AND CONTROL ALL WORKS ASSOCIATED WITH PARKS AND GARDENS, PUBLIC FACILITIES, TOWN BEAUTIFICATION PROGRAMS AND CEMETERY OPERATIONS TO ACHIEVE AGREED STRATEGIC OBJECTIVES AND COMMUNITY EXPECTATIONS.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Full time: 70-hour fortnight
Salary: Range from $101,675 to $116,927 pa + 11.5% super
