Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

In conjunction with the Float Pool Director, manages the daily operations of the system-wide Corporate float pool and RWJBH agency personnel. Monitors staffing effectiveness and impact. Fosters strong working relationships with all levels of nursing/support leadership at each of the individual sites and in the system office as well as third party agency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • High school graduate required

Preferred:

  • College degree preferred
  • Experience in nursing finance and/or staffing office operations strongly recommended

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively allocates resources. Schedules float pool and secures agency resources according to need and budgetary guidelines.
  • Interfaces with nursing and support leadership at each site and acts as a liaison to achieve proper ratios in care areas by assigning a Corporate float RN or securing agency.
  • Acts as a liaison to onboard float pool RNs with local Nursing leadership
  • Maintains log of sick days and PTO days for corporate float pool
  • Documents all information pertinent to staffing. Communicates and escalates any issues to the appropriate leader
  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines and proactively manages budget variances and causes.
  • Gathers data and assists in weekly or monthly reports
  • Collaborates with Float Pool Director and on-site Leadership at each site on job descriptions and performance evaluations
  • Reports to Float Pool Director all problems/concerns regarding staffing and recruitment needs
  • Provides a compassionate and supportive environment with prompt and consistent service
  • Interacts constructively, tactfully, and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively.
  • Completes tasks and assignments in a timely, accurate and efficient manner
  • Participates in ongoing education as required
