WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU BRING?

  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent;
  • You have strong experience in the coordination, administration, and delivery of training and programs in a corporate environment;
  • Formal certification in Adult Education / Learning, Project Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) is an asset;
  • You are proficient in the use and administration functions of Learning Management Systems (SAP experience is a strong asset) to track, report on, create, and deliver training courses and programs;
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of adult education principles and techniques, and have experience preparing and delivering engaging and effective training programs and courses for both small and large groups.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and related legislation (i.e. Environmental Protection Act, Regulations for Construction Projects, Technical Standards & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Act, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques, as well as monitoring and control methodologies.
  • Sound understanding of program assessment/evaluation and quality assurance activities;
  • Familiarity with Plant Maintenance operations and processes, including work performed by skilled trades and maintenance employees, is an asset;

Responsibilities:

In this role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and ongoing coordination of training programs for employees at all levels within the Plant Maintenance Department, which consists of a diverse team including skilled trades, construction, maintenance, and other professional and management staff. You will be involved in determining training requirements and that curriculums are current and compliant with work requirements, legislation, safety standards, TTC policy, and industry best practices. You will also design and deliver safety orientation/training programs for the department, including leading classes for large groups, and coordinating with other internal training departments or external vendors, as required. Other responsibilities of your role will include assessing the effectiveness of training programs by soliciting stakeholder and participant feedback, evaluating programs, and conducting quality assurance/control activities and action plans.
You will participate in the TTC’s Customer Service Ambassador Program.
