Our client is a national charity dedicated to funding scientific research aimed at discovering kinder, more effective treatments for children diagnosed with cancer. They are seeking a passionate Copy & Communications Specialist to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

As a Copy & Communications Specialist, you will report to the Head of Marketing & Communications. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with the Head of Marketing and Communications and Graphic Designer to craft compelling written content that supports fundraising, marketing, and communication objectives.
  • Writing and editing content for various platforms including social media, email newsletters, direct mail, and other marketing collateral.
  • Conducting interviews with families, fundraisers, corporates, and donors to develop engaging stories.
  • Overseeing the execution and production of the Annual Report.
  • Collaborating with the Head of Marketing and Communication to develop personas for campaigns, events, and appeals.
  • Assisting in the analysis of fundraising and marketing activities and contributing to the evaluation process for events and campaigns.
  • Leading SEO efforts, including optimising existing content, conducting keyword research, technical audits, and link building.
  • Managing freelance content contributors and working with the Digital Marketing Specialist to develop a website governance strategy.
  • Providing support for PR and external communications, including preparing press releases.
  • Utilising basic design skills to create visually appealing, on-brand content for social media and email marketing.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualities:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, coupled with a strategic mindset. Preferably with a journalistic background.
  • Previous experience in writing science or research-related content is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in applying marketing fundamentals through digital channels, with a proven track record of delivering end-to-end campaigns.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines effectively
