Are you looking for a role where your words matter? We’re looking for a talented content creator who is passionate about engaging the next generation of learners to study at Curtin University Malaysia.
We are looking for a Copywriter who can craft high-quality, engaging content that resonates with our youth audiences to help drive our brand and acquisition marketing efforts.
Working closely with the Marketing Operations Manager (located in Miri), and the Content Manager (located in Perth), you’ll work closely with marketing team members to write content for a range of platforms and channels, including website, email, print, advertising and social media.
This role offers the exciting opportunity to work with a global marketing team, as part of Curtin University’s global brand, giving you the chance to collaborate with and learn from other copywriting and marketing experts.

As a Copywriter, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create content that inspires individuals to choose Curtin through compelling and effective communications
  • Research, plan, and deliver high-quality content across various media, for a range of audiences. Your work will include course guides, digital and social media content, brochures, video scripts, website copy, blog articles, and more
  • Be the team expert in aligning all marketing content to Curtin’s brand tone of voice, maintaining consistency and accuracy across all publishing channels, following brand identity guidelines and legal requirements
  • Collaborate with the wider marketing team on content planning as part of Curtin Malaysia’s strategic marketing plan
  • Contribute to the development of internal production processes and systems, actively seeking continuous improvement to drive best practice marketing

As a Copywriter, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with the wider marketing team on content planning as part of Curtin Malaysia’s strategic marketing plan

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A relevant degree in journalism, communication, PR, or creative writing, coupled with professional writing experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Strong writing skills for diverse audiences and media channels, with a focus on youth audiences
  • Proficiency in information management software
  • An understanding of writing for print and digital environments, including paid media advertising, social media, and websites
  • Knowledge of news publication principles and protocols
  • Problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
  • An ability to work both independently and as part of a team, fostering relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including cross-cultural sensitivity
  • The ability to adapt academic, scientific, and technical information to various styles and audiences
  • An understanding of writing for SEO.
