QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Science (e.g. Geology)
  • Minimum 24 months experience as advanced Core Analyst
  • Good verbal and written knowledge of local language and written (technical) English
  • Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations
  • Basic computer skills (MS Windows, Word, Excel, company systems)
  • Ability to use laboratory computer software (e.g. LIMS, LabView)

ABOUT PETROLEUM SERVICES

The Petroleum Services entails the characterization of petroleum reservoir rock and reservoir fluids samples to increase production and improve recovery of crude oil and natural gas from our clients’ reservoirs. Petroleum Services leverage expertise to provide subsurface data and innovations that enable clients to sustain the world’s needs for reliable, affordable, and cleaner energy.

JOB PURPOSE:

To independently perform more advanced rock property laboratory tests, within the petrophysical and relative permeability groups. Record and document test results from laboratory equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES/KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):

  • Awareness of relevant Company Safety and Environmental (HSE) Requirements and perform duties in accordance with these requirements
  • Perform analysis according to documented procedures or work instructions in accordance with approved QA Procedures
  • Maintain the laboratory in a safe, clean and tidy manner including safe storage and disposal of samples/core
  • Assess whether laboratory equipment is maintained and calibrated before utilizing
  • Perform more advanced laboratory tests, within the petrophysical and relative permeability groups
  • Ability to interpret scientific data, perform mathematical and scientific calculations, maintain laboratory notebooks and check for accuracy
  • Record and document test results from laboratory equipment including flow pumps, pressure transducers and gauges, scales and balances, electronic equipment and basic laboratory glassware
  • Attend and participate in departmental and safety meetings
