Description:

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic , motivated, dynamic, and experienced Modality Lead / Superintendent Radiographer to apply for the Core Services Modality Lead post at St. Mary’s Hospital.
We are looking for a dedicated Radiographer with organisational and leadership skills to manage, and act as clinical lead for Plain Film, Fluoroscopy, Theatres and Mobiles, co-ordinating the day-to-day running of the service and managing a multi-disciplinary team.
The successful candidate will have excellent people management and communication skills and will demonstrate flare and imagination in motivating, training and developing radiographic staff. Education and training are key elements of the department and the applicant should have excellent radiographic skills in a range of modalities, with particular knowledge of, and interest in, current trends/techniques in general radiography, Imaging IT systems and QA requirements.
The department supports both undergraduate and postgraduate training with our sites offering placements to Southbank, City and Hertfordshire Universities Radiography students.
The Imaging department at Imperial offers the full spectrum of Imaging modalities across the Trust, delivering advanced clinical practices such as Cross-sectional Cardiac Imaging in CT and MR, Radiographer led CT Colonoscopy examinations, and highly complex Interventional Radiology procedures.

Imaging supports all specialties, and sites within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust are recognised as specialist centres for Renal Transplant, Cardiology, Major Trauma, Hyper-acute Stroke, Paediatrics, and Respiratory Medicine.

  • To be responsible for the management and day-to day running of the specialised services pertaining to the unit.
  • To be responsible for the management and development of the specialist service ensuring optimum use of staffing and equipment resources within the modalities.
  • To be responsible for the professional leadership and training of the team, providing a high quality patient focused service.
  • To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
  • To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development.
  • To ensure maintenance of equipment and a safe working environment.
  • To provide a service to patients across all sites
