Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
As a Corporate Accountant & Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial accounting/reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and corporate reporting functions. You will be responsible for preparing month-end journals, performing P&L reviews, assisting with the preparation of annual and interim financial statements, supporting the external audit process, preparing regular market pricing updates, coordinating annual budgets and forecasts, reviewing performance against budget/forecast, providing technical system advice and support to the wider Finance team.
- Prepare month-end journals, perform P&L reviews and provide monthly financial performance reports
- Assist with preparation of annual and interim financial statements and reports for the group
- Support the external audit process, ensuring adherence to an agreed schedule and high-quality deliverables
- Ensure the group’s lease accounting software and work papers are updated monthly
- Prepare regular market pricing, industry data and economic forecast updates
- Coordinate and prepare annual budgets and forecasts for all Corporate functions
- Review performance of Corporate functions against budget/forecast
- Provide technical system advice and support to the wider Finance team
The ideal candidate for this Corporate Accountant & Analyst role will bring a wealth of experience in external auditing from a big 4 CA firm. She will have a tertiary accounting qualification along with membership in CAANZ/CPA. Her analytical skills coupled with her financial modelling experience will be crucial in this role. She will have a good understanding of processes that support robust financial reporting. Her intermediate to advanced Excel skills, excellent written and communication skills, and great attention to detail will be key to her success in this role.
- Tertiary Accounting qualification is essential
- Full member of CAANZ/CPA is desirable
- At least 3 years of External Audit experience ideally in a big 4 CA firm
- Analytical and financial modelling experience is required
- Good knowledge and understanding of processes that support robust financial reporting
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are necessary
- Excellent written and communication skills are crucial
- Great attention to detail is vita
