    JOB DESCRIPTION: The Corporate Compliance Officer oversees the agency’s compliance with government laws and regulations. The position provides guidance and assistance to ensure the seamless operation of corporate compliance functions agency-wide. Duties include coordinating with company management to identify potential risks, implementing policies and procedures to uphold laws and rules, and monitoring the company’s adherence.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Superior attention to detail to identify and correct risky practices
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to accurately interpret complex documents and policies
  • Possess a solid legal and moral integrity and a sense of ethics
  • Must be a strong communicator and capable of expressing oneself clearly both in speaking and in writing
  • Possess a collaborative personality and be open to suggestions from team members
  • Exemplify strong knowledge of industry protocols and best practices
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s Degree in law, finance, business management, or related field with 3-5 years of experience in a corporate compliance and risk management role
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a compliance certification

Responsibilities:

  • Mastermind compliance policies and protocols on behalf of the organization
  • Monitor all operational processes and procedures using a compliance management platform to ensure the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards.
  • Report any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices to Executive Management.
  • Provide training, tracking, and education to providers and corporate office staff on compliance and risk management, including fraud and abuse, coding requirements, claims submission process, marketing practices, HIPAA, and other related areas.
  • Manage information flow by researching, recording, and analyzing data and information. With a regular flow of information and conducting compliance risk assessments, they ensure that the business runs smoothly.
  • Train and educate staff to ensure they are informed of legal changes and compliance guidelines updates.
  • Conduct periodic audits for our various compliance programs (HIPPA, Coding/Billing, and Employment) to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and report findings to the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee, Executive Director, and others on a need-to-know basis.
  • Conduct regular assessments to determine whether policies are compliant with the law.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and testing and track findings/observations remediation.
  • Determine compliance metrics and establish a system for tracking them
  • Take charge in dealing with noncompliance situations, creating realistic plans to overcome them
  • Maintain up-to-date written documentation and policies related to the organization’s business activities
  • Create a compliance resource library for staff members to reference when they have questions
  • Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility of each employee. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, on time and prepared to start working.
