THE OPPORTUNITY: CORPORATE COUNSEL
We are seeking a talented individual to join Aon’s legal team – based in Sydney - as a Corporate Counsel.
The Corporate Counsel (Commercial) will be a member of the Aon Law Division reporting to the Head of Commercial Law. The Corporate Counsel will provide professional support to the business including timely advice and a range of commercial and transactional legal services.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE THAT WILL LEAD TO SUCCESS
The ideal candidate will have 5 years PQE in a top or middle tier law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Previous relevant corporate and commercial experience or general insurance sector and/or financial services sector experience required.
- Specific knowledge of insurance law in Australia preferred.
- Strong analytic skills, including the ability to analyse and discern issues, risks and solutions.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately and handle multiple engagements, processes and competing priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills with ability to work with others under pressure and to resolve differences in a constructive manner.
- Be culturally sensitive and empathetic across all levels of Aon and Aon clients.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to optimally communicate ideas to sophisticated internal clients together with ability to persuade and negotiate effectively.
- Ability to process sensitive and highly confidential information with discretion.
- A proactive and self-disciplined approach.
