Description:
REQUIREMENTS
Having demonstrated experience in delivering the above activities, the successful Corporate Counsel Sales Contract shall embrace the following:
- Highly motivated individual with an active credential (i.e. practicing attorney or similar) and excellent communication skills.
- Law degree from a European university or law school (specialization in business law is helpful) and preferably a degree in LLM or similar qualification.
- 2 or more years of recent practice, including commercial contract drafting and negotiations (face to face customer/partner negotiations) experience, preferably in an international law firm or legal department or an international business environment.
- Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment.
- Critical thinking, problem solving, and determination.
- Excellent writing, verbal communication and technical negotiation skills .
- Detail-oriented, ability for holistic view, disciplined, diligent and able to efficiently manage and handle multiple commercial contract projects simultaneously in a multi-national team, sometimes under deadline pressure.
- IT Industry experience desirable.
- Travel within Europe may be required from time to time.
- Fluency in desktop productivity tools, CLM as well as interest in Legal Tech required.
- Business fluent in English
- Business-level fluency in another European language is an advantage.

Responsibilities:
- Draft, develop, assess, review, negotiate and interpret contracts on IT outsourcing, consulting, service, professional services, software, cloud services and related commercial documents for Lexmark business units such as sales and sourcing.
- Lead high quality internal Lexmark business unit and customer interactions and pragmatic solution finding that safeguards consistency of terms and conditions with company policies and goals, always connected with the objective to exclude and/or reduce company’s contractual risks.
- Coordinate activities with cross-functional inhouse teams (e.g. tax, treasury, supply chain, sales, etc.), from opportunity assessment through contract implementation, award and post award activities.
- Existing and constantly self-initiated training of expertise in the field of commercial, competition and contracts law in the context of local and EU law, incl. rules and regulations for countries outside of the European Economic Area as part of the EMEA scope.
- Work with sales and operation business units to develop and successfully implement negotiation strategies and tactics.
- Assess and identify contractual risks to management of different functional units and obtain approvals by actively driving the decision-making process.
- Drive best practices to enhance contracts review processes.
- Provide training on contractual and/or legal matters to various functions, such as sales or operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time, incl. review and implementation of processes, boilerplate and general terms and conditions creation.
