We are looking for a Corporate Development Manager to join Element Fleet Management. The Corporate Development Manager is a key player in driving the growth and expansion strategies of our company. You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, and investments that align with the company’s overall objectives. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, financial acumen, and strong communication skills to navigate complex business environments and foster relationships with external partners. This role will work closely with senior management on proposals and deals, and will communicate with external prospects, vendors, and project hosts, and with internal cross-functional departments to support the diligence and investigation of prospective investment and acquisition opportunities.

A Day in the Life

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine the company’s corporate development strategy. Identify opportunities for growth through market analysis, competitive intelligence, and industry trends.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and develop solid understanding of the business, internal capability gaps, substantial capability enhancement opportunities, and what must be true to close a gap or leverage an opportunity.
  • Research, monitor, and evaluate competitive landscape, new growth verticals, and opportunities into prospective companies. Conduct Industry scans and relative player placement/rankings on a given set of capabilities and scope new business opportunities
  • Identify and assess potential acquisition targets for strategic alignment and value generation, perform detailed financial analysis, build valuation models, and identify opportunities and risks.
  • Qualitatively and quantitatively assess a prospect for its potential as a buy/partner/white label candidate
  • Prepare effective communications for internal stakeholders, including executives, board members, and functional teams, to gain alignment on corporate development initiatives. Be prepared to present findings and recommendations in a clear and compelling manner.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in corporate development, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting roles.
  • Strong financial analysis skills, including proficiency in valuation techniques, financial modeling, and due diligence.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence decision-makers at all levels.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to think critically and creatively about business opportunities and challenges.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams and leading complex initiatives from conception to execution.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory frameworks and legal considerations related to M&A transactions and partnerships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools; familiarity with M&A software platforms is a plus.
