Description:

WHAT WE OFFER

Imagine being part of the most exciting industry on the planet. Our future is all about tech – electrified and totally connected to people’s everyday lives. Tech that will shift how our society functions. But how do we introduce this future in a way that’s safe and sustainable? These are some of the questions we’re solving here at Volvo Cars.
We’ve set our targets big. Being all electric by 2030 and climate neutral by 2040 are just two. We’re also bringing software development in-house and moving car sales online. This fast transformation isn’t for everyone. But if you’re excited by the technological and sustainability challenges facing the auto industry and society at large, then you’re a great fit.
Join us and watch your ideas shape the future of mobility.

GLOBAL PRODUCT PLANNING- & GROUP STRATEGY - LET’S INTRODUCE OURSELVES

Volvo Car Group has ownership stakes in several companies of strategic importance for the Group, such as Polestar, Lynk&Co, Zenseact, HaleyTek, NOVO Energy and World of Volvo. The ownership stakes open exciting opportunities for collaborations and partnerships, but also require a structure that gives us as a company the best prerequisites to be an active and professional owner.
Our Corporate Portfolio Development team, which is part of Global Product Planning and Group Strategy, is now looking for a new team member, based in our HQ Gothenburg. We are a high-performing team with an overarching objective to ensure that Volvo Cars is an active and professional owner of its portfolio companies. You will have the opportunity to interact frequently with colleagues from the portfolio companies and from other functions in Volvo Car Group, including with senior leaders, and you will be involved in several of the strategic focus areas of the Volvo Car Group.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You have around 10 years’ experience from project management in large organizations, combined with corporate development and governance, and/or M&A and strategic partnership negotiations including both transactional and operational elements. Preferably, you have experience from management consulting.
You are comfortable interacting with people at all levels and functions, and you are strong at synthesizing input from various experts and stakeholders into findings and recommendations in a structured way. You quickly grasp the essence of complex problems and understand the holistic picture. Further, you enjoy identifying improvement areas and embrace change, and integrity is natural for you. Furthermore, you have a strong business acumen and understand financial concepts and reporting.
Last but not the least, we are looking for someone who - on a personal level - shares our values. Being collaborative, curious, and pragmatic goes a long way.

LET’S GET TO KNOW EACH OTHER!

This position is based at Volvo Cars’ international HQ in Gothenburg, Sweden and you will report to the Head of Corporate Portfolio Development.
We welcome your application!

Responsibilities:

Your tasks will include both projects and recurring activities associated with our ownership in the portfolio companies. You will be involved in the preparations ahead of the companies’ Board of Directors meetings and support Volvo Cars’ board representatives, ensuring well-informed decision-making and strategic alignment. You will also lead cross-functional projects related to the portfolio companies and their development, and you will be part of developing our ownership strategies and governance.
In the team, we also monitor the financial performance and funding need of the portfolio companies and coordinate with Volvo Cars’ performance steering structure and business plan process.
