Responsibilities:

We are seeking a suitably experienced and capable individual with relevant experience and passion to lead a small team to deliver high quality corporate services including; HR, recruitment, secretariat, property, security, media and communications functions. The Corporate Director will also provide ongoing management of the Shared Services arrangements to support the important work of the PWSS.
Informed by a keen sense of risk, and with the Agency’s reputation front of mind, the Corporate Director plays a critical role in sustaining the operations of the PWSS.
This is an exciting opportunity for an organised and professional leader with the ability to achieve results across a diverse range of work and to ensure strategic development and delivery of the PWSS’ corporate services.
The position works in a fast-paced environment, requiring highly-developed communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and motivate staff and build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the PWSS Executive.

We are looking for a strong leader who will:

  • provide strategic leadership to guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team to achieve high quality outcomes and continuous workplace improvement;
  • continue to work on and oversee the establishment of the corporate function with a focus on corporate business plans/strategies and human resources;
  • provide expert and timely strategic advice and recommendations across the Agency including to the Executive to influence agency decisions, aims and initiatives;
  • provide oversight and manage shared services arrangements across corporate functions with a focus on high quality stakeholder relationships;
  • coordinate, prepare and oversee more complex written material including, business cases, Senate Estimate briefs, Ministerial and agency briefs, corporate documentation, publication articles, media releases, as well as other duties as required.
  • manage the PWSS brand including strategic internal and external communications, development of communication plans and associated products in consultation with our Shared Services provider.
